‘The Trio Samaritan’ from Kuirei Village - Ukhrul District

The Trio Samaritan, namely Z. Vareshang-Convenor, Dr. Sword R. Shimray-Secretary and Arthur R. Shimray-Treasurer from Kuirei village, Ukhrul District knowing the hardship of the Kuirei denizen living outside the state due to COVID-19 pandemic stepped up to help them. The trio discussed the miseries of their brothers and sisters living outside Manipur and came to the conclusion that they will do fund drive on behalf of the people who need help the most.
So, they started fundraising and within two weeks (20 April - 3 May 2020) could collect rupees Eighty-five Thousand Five Hundred (85,500). Knowing the urgent needs of those living outside the state of Manipur within two days (4 - 5 May) they credited the fund to 53 bank accounts. They credited Rs. 2400 each to four families (total=10,000) and Rs. 1540 each to forty-nine (49) single person (total Rs. 75,460) and remaining rupees 40 they gave it to their local church. So, total Rs. 85,460 they gave out to the people who are staying in different cities (Guwahati, Shillong, Kolkotta, Chennai, Bangalore, Gao, Trivandrum, Pondicherry, Pune, Telangana, Rajasthan, Mumbai, Delhi and Haryana) of India received from forty-six (46) well-wishers of the said villages. The donation amount ranged from Rs.500 to Rs.10,000.
